Ten Yad Facts & Figures
In less than five years, Ten Yad has accomplished amazing things using a dedicated group of volunteers who have taken it upon themselves to be leaders in making a contribution to their community and impacting the lives of others in a positive and profound way. Below, we have assembled some basic information and statistics on our activities. Some of the information may surprise you, some may prompt a chuckle or smile. But all of it should serve as inspiration of what a dedicated group of people can do…to make a difference.
Numbers…
5… The number of years that Ten Yad has been in existence. First established in 2008, it received charitable status from the Canadian Revenue Agency in 2009.
120… The number of families assisted by Ten Yad since its inception.
200… Ten Yad Volunteer data base supporting our various programs.

In Other Words…
Ten Yad has sponsored one meal for every day of the year since 2008!
Car services four times a week, every week of the year!
Four Bikur Cholim hospital visits every week throughout the year!
Other Highlights…
Ten Yad introduced the Kosher Pantry program in 2010. Currently, this service is available at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital and both the Civic and General campuses of the Ottawa Hospital. CHEO and the Heart Institute represent the focus of our efforts in 2013/14.
“Code 613” Shabbat and Yom Tov taxi service, courtesy of Westway Taxi, began operation in 2010 as well.
The “Chevrei Tehillim” program was established in 2011 and has offered comfort and strength to many faced with acute medical situations over the last two years.
The “Circle Fund” was introduced at the Ten Yad Gala in 2011 and provides support for those who do not benefit from a close circle of friends and family who can step in during times of need.
Ten Yad’s “In the Kitchen with Ten Yad” cookbook has sold more than 350 volumes and raised many thousands for the “Circle Fund”.
Together, we have accomplished so much and provided meaningful support for those in need. With your continued help and participation, there is a great deal more we can do. So “Ten Yad” – lend a hand – and help us make a difference…
